The day started with a special assembly where Grade I and Prep students shared Guru Nanak’s teachings. The children then participated in an impactful activity that reinforced these values hands-on: cleaning their classrooms and school premises. This act, reflecting Guru Nanak Ji’s commitment to humility and selfless service, helped students understand the importance of responsibility, respect for their surroundings, and contributing to the community without expecting anything in return.
They learned that cleanliness reflects respect for oneself, others, and the world around them. This collective action was a reminder of Guru Nanak Ji’s belief in the power of action over words, aligning with our motto, “Service Before Self.”
The most heartwarming part of the day was when the children shared a meal in unity. Grade I students served others, sitting together and sharing food, laughter, and conversations, experiencing the concepts of seva (selfless service) and vand chakna (sharing with others).
The day was a beautiful reminder that true greatness lies in what we give, not what we take. It was a celebration of personal growth, kindness, and unity. As we honour timeless teachings of the great guru, we continue to carry forward the message of love, humility, and service every day, guiding our students toward becoming compassionate, responsible, and thoughtful individuals.
