‘Uddayan - Where Dreams Take Flight’ – A Warm Beginning to a Beautiful Journey
Orientation Day at DPS Surajkund was a warm and joyful start to the new academic year, bringing together parents and teachers, setting the tone for a meaningful journey ahead.
The day began with a traditional chandan tilak, followed by the Thumbprint Tree—a beautiful symbol of each parent coming together in our growing school community. Parents beamed as they spotted their child’s sketch on a special display and pinned adjectives like kind, curious, or brave, reflecting their love and pride. These were later shared with the children, helping them feel seen and celebrated.
One of the most touching moments was when parents penned heartfelt notes to their children. These colourful messages now hang on a tree in the reception, reminding little ones daily of their parents’ love.
The orientation session opened with a soothing prayer and a joyful dance energiser. Our Headmistress, Ms. Supriya Bakshi, walked parents through the school’s vision, mission, and core values, followed by a helpful walkthrough of our ERP system. A peaceful lamp-lighting ceremony symbolised the light of learning we walk towards together.
Parents then moved to classrooms for class orientation sessions, meeting the teachers and learning about routines, teaching styles, and the year ahead. Meanwhile, the children were engaged in the Performance Den for an engaging Born to Move session.
It was a day filled with warmth, smiles, and thoughtful moments, marking the beginning of a year rooted in love, learning, and strong home-school connections.
