Kalakriti 2.0 – A Celebration of Young Artists
Carrying forward the school’s cherished tradition of nurturing creativity and self-expression, Kalakriti 2.0 brought together students from Montessori to Grade II in a vibrant showcase of artistic talent and imagination. The exhibition served as a celebration of the artwork created by our Dipsites throughout the year.
The artworks on display drew inspiration from some of the most celebrated names in art history, including the dreamlike water reflections of Monet’s Water Lilies, the bold lines of Warli Art, the distinctive style of Pablo Picasso’s self-portraits, the radiant colour blocks of Alma Thomas’ mosaic art, the architectural charm of Paul Klee’s The Castle, the iconic warmth of Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, and the rhythmic geometric patterns of Wassily Kandinsky’s concentric circles. The exhibition also embraced India’s rich artistic heritage through the intricate and expressive traditions of Madhubani and Gond art.
Students brought these inspirations to life through an impressive range of techniques – finger painting, dot painting, fork art, watercolour washes, and thoughtful colour mixing – each piece a testament to their curiosity and growing artistic sensibility.
A highlight of the exhibition was the pottery section, where students’ sculptures were displayed that were crafted using techniques such as coil building, slab work, stamping, and texture art, each piece radiating the joy and pride of creation.
Kalakriti 2.0 was, in every sense, a celebration of young minds at their most expressive -curious, fearless, and full of wonder. It stood as a vivid reminder of the power of art in a child’s journey of learning and growth.
