The vibrant spirit of Holi was wholeheartedly embraced by the students of DPS Surajkund through a day filled with meaningful and joyful festivities. The celebration commenced with a traditional welcome, as each child was greeted with a tilak—a symbol of good fortune and the cultural essence of the festival.
Promoting creativity and environmental responsibility, students explored natural ingredients to create organic colours. Using spinach for green, beetroot for pink, and turmeric for yellow, they experienced the beauty of nature’s palette, making the celebration both engaging and eco-friendly. Dressed in white T-shirts, the children personalised their attire by dipping their hands in these natural hues and creating colourful prints on each other’s shirts. This interactive activity not only sparked artistic expression but also strengthened bonds among peers.
The celebrations continued with a potluck of traditional Holi delicacies, including gujiya, pakoras, and other festive treats. This joyful sharing of food introduced students to the flavours of Holi while nurturing a spirit of generosity and togetherness.
Adding a graceful touch, students participated in Phoolon ki Holi—playing with flower petals instead of synthetic colours. This gentle and safe alternative highlighted the importance of sustainable celebrations.
The festivities culminated in a lively dance session where students enthusiastically swayed to upbeat Holi songs, immersing themselves in the joy and unity the festival brings.
Through these enriching experiences, students not only celebrated Holi with great zeal but also imbibed the values of harmony, happiness, and eco-awareness—truly capturing the essence of this vibrant festival.
