At DPS Surajkund, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated with immense pride, patriotism, and a deep sense of gratitude for our nation. The entire school came alive with the vibrant colours of the tricolour as students, parents, grandparents, and teachers united to honour the spirit of freedom. It was a day filled with joy, reflection, and a renewed commitment to our country.
Delhi Public School Surajkund is committed to instilling in our children an awareness of their country’s heritage. In this endeavour, we dedicated a week-long celebration called ‘India Week,’ which culminated in the Flag Hoisting ceremony on August 15, 2024. Throughout India Week, our children learned about the freedom fighters and explored the true meaning of freedom.
The festivities began with a ‘Prabhat Pheri’ where students sang patriotic songs, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotic fervour. Our Chief Guest, Ms. Praveen Joshi, Chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, along with Mrs. Shail Bala Jain, Founder Patron of DPS Greater Faridabad, hoisted the national flag. The national anthem echoed across the campus, filling every heart with pride. It was a moment of collective pride and joy as all generations came together to salute the symbol of our hard-earned freedom.
The celebration continued with a rich cultural program that highlighted the diversity and spirit of our nation. From vibrant dance performances to soul-stirring musical renditions, our students left everyone in awe of their talent and dedication. The day took a special turn as parents and grandparents joined the stage with their singing, adding a personal touch to the celebration. It was a heartwarming moment, showcasing the deep bond between generations and their shared love for the country.
The event concluded with games arranged for our parents, grandparents, and Dipsites, where everyone got together as a community for a fun-filled day. These activities not only provided entertainment but also strengthened the sense of community and togetherness among all participants.
As the celebration came to a close, it wasn’t just an event but a powerful reminder of the values that unite us as a nation. At DPS Surajkund, we believe in nurturing young minds to appreciate the past while contributing to a brighter, more united future. This Independence Day celebration was a testament to that belief — a day that celebrated not just freedom, but also the spirit of togetherness and hope for tomorrow.
The 78th Independence Day at DPS Surajkund was a vivid tapestry of pride, patriotism, and unity. The week-long ‘India Week’ ensured that our children understood the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the true essence of independence. The parade, cultural programs, and community activities not only highlighted the talents and dedication of our students but also reinforced the bond between different generations, reminding us all of the values that make our nation strong. As we look to the future, we remain committed to fostering a sense of national pride and unity in our young minds, ensuring they grow up to be responsible and enlightened citizens of our great country.
