“Respect for every helping hand makes the world a kinder place.”

Labour Day at DPS Surajkund was not just a celebration; it was a heartfelt expression of gratitude, kindness, and respect for the people who work tirelessly every day to make our school a safe, happy, and comfortable place for all of us. Through thoughtful activities and meaningful gestures, our young learners came together to honour the invaluable contribution of our school’s support staff.

The day began with excitement and warmth as students prepared special handmade cards filled with colourful drawings, sweet messages, and words of appreciation. Each card reflected the innocence and gratitude of little hearts learning the importance of valuing every individual with dignity and respect.

To make the celebration even more special, students lovingly prepared sandwiches and refreshing lemonade for the school nannies, male support staff, drivers, and conductors. The simple act of serving food with care became a beautiful lesson in empathy, sharing, and thankfulness. Watching the children proudly offer their treats with smiling faces created moments that were truly heartwarming.

The celebration continued with a cheerful musical performance where students sang a special song dedicated to all the helping staff members. Their joyful voices filled the atmosphere with happiness and appreciation, making every guest feel recognised and valued.

Dedication and commitment towards the school were also recognised through prizes and certificates presented by our Headmistress, Ms. Supriya Bakshi.

The day served as a gentle reminder that every role holds importance and every effort deserves respect. Through these meaningful experiences, our young learners understood that kindness, gratitude, compassion, and respect for every profession shape responsible and empathetic individuals.

Labour Day 2026 was a beautiful celebration of humanity, teamwork, and respect — a day when little hands expressed deep gratitude to the people who help make every school day possible.

The adage "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy" reflects our belief in the essential balance between academics and sports to unlock a child's full potential. This equilibrium not only fosters gross motor skills but also cultivates valuable personal attributes like teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Sports, we believe, imparts crucial life lessons that academics alone cannot provide. Our Physical Education program is meticulously designed to support a child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. It encourages an appreciation for movement and the body's creative expression, fostering a positive attitude towards an active and healthy lifestyle. In the Foundation years, students engage in the Fundamental Skills Program, which teaches balancing, running, jumping, catching, and throwing while promoting hand-eye coordination through enjoyable team-building games.
