“तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय।”

“Lead me from darkness to light.”

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of India’s most cherished celebrations. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, goodness over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. The festival reminds us to spread joy, hope, and compassion all around.

At Delhi Public School, Surajkund, the celebration of Diwali with a Difference beautifully reflected these values. The campus came alive with colours, music, and laughter as students arrived in vibrant traditional attire, their cheerful smiles brightening every corner.

Children enthusiastically made bandhanwars, decorated diyas, crafted beautiful festive creations, made colourful rangolis  and participated in classroom cleaning drives — learning that true celebration begins with cleanliness, order, and care for their surroundings.

Adding to the festive spirit, the teachers presented a captivating skit that conveyed the message of celebrating an eco-friendly and meaningful Diwali. Their performance inspired everyone to choose compassion, protect nature, and celebrate responsibly.

A special highlight of the celebration was the Happy Bank initiative, where parents and teachers came together to donate essential items for those in need. This act of kindness helped students understand that the real joy of Diwali lies in sharing and bringing smiles to others.

This Diwali, we pledge to protect our planet, spread happiness, and celebrate with purpose.
Because the real sparkle comes from smiles, not smoke!

The adage "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy" reflects our belief in the essential balance between academics and sports to unlock a child's full potential. This equilibrium not only fosters gross motor skills but also cultivates valuable personal attributes like teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Sports, we believe, imparts crucial life lessons that academics alone cannot provide. Our Physical Education program is meticulously designed to support a child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. It encourages an appreciation for movement and the body's creative expression, fostering a positive attitude towards an active and healthy lifestyle. In the Foundation years, students engage in the Fundamental Skills Program, which teaches balancing, running, jumping, catching, and throwing while promoting hand-eye coordination through enjoyable team-building games.
