Earth Day Celebration at DPS Surajkund Preschool: Little Hands, Big Hearts for Our Planet
This Earth Day, our DPS Surajkund pre-schoolers participated in a joyous celebration dedicated to learning about and caring for our planet. Even at such a young age, our little ones showed great enthusiasm and love for nature through a variety of fun and educational activities.
Planting and Watering: Tiny Gardeners at Work
Our Earth Day festivities began with the children planting and watering seeds in the school garden. The kids carefully tended to their plants with their small hands holding tiny watering cans. This activity was not only fun but also taught them the basics of plant care and the importance of helping things grow. Each child planted a seedling, and they were thrilled to watch their little plants sprout and grow over time.
Fun with Sustainability: Learning Through Play
To help our pre-schoolers understand sustainability, we organized playful and engaging activities that were both fun and educational:
Recycling Crafts: The children made beautiful art projects using recycled materials like paper, plastic bottles, and old buttons. They learned that recycling can be fun and that they can create new things from old items.
Energy Saving Games: Simple games helped the kids learn about saving energy. They pretended to be superheroes turning off lights and saving power to protect our planet.
Water Conservation Activities: Through water-themed songs and playful activities, the children learned about the importance of not wasting water. They practiced turning off the tap while washing hands.
Classroom Adventures: Stories and Songs for our Mother Earth
In the classroom, teachers read delightful stories about animals, plants, and the Earth, capturing the children’s imaginations. The kids sang cheerful songs about nature and danced to tunes celebrating the Earth. Art projects included drawing pictures of their favourite animals and plants, which decorated our classroom walls, creating a vibrant display of their love for nature.
