Fun in the Sun: A Joyful Summer Party at DPS Surajkund

On Friday, May 16, DPS Surajkund came alive with laughter, colour, and sunshine as our young learners from Montessori to Grade II celebrated the much-awaited Summer Party under the cheerful theme “Fun in the Sun.” The event was a perfect blend of joy, sensory exploration, and seasonal learning that left everyone beaming with happiness.

The celebration began with a splash in the Mud Play Zone, where curious little hands and feet gleefully explored textures and nature through squishy, muddy fun—an experience that sparked pure, sensory joy. Next came the Bubble Bonanza, where clouds of shimmering bubbles filled the air, followed by lively water relay games like Pass the Water, which brought out playful teamwork and endless giggles.

To beat the heat, children moved on to the Ice Breaking Station—a cool sensory adventure—and the ever-popular Splash Pool, offering a refreshing escape and plenty of cheerful splashes. Indoors, students turned into little chefs during the Lemonade Making Activity, learning to squeeze lemons, stir sugar, and add just the right pinch of salt—a sweet and tangy lesson in following steps and tasting success.

The excitement continued with the arrival of the Ice Cream Cart, serving chilled delights that quickly became the day’s favourite treat. The celebration concluded with a heartwarming summer potluck, where children shared lovingly prepared dishes, making memories over food and friendship.

Dressed in bright, floral outfits, our little Dipsites brought extra sunshine to the day. The Fun in the Sun party wasn’t just a summer celebration—it was a beautiful reminder of the joy of childhood, the magic of togetherness, and the wonder of learning through play.

Here’s to many more days of sunshine and smiles at DPS Surajkund!

The adage "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy" reflects our belief in the essential balance between academics and sports to unlock a child's full potential. This equilibrium not only fosters gross motor skills but also cultivates valuable personal attributes like teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Sports, we believe, imparts crucial life lessons that academics alone cannot provide. Our Physical Education program is meticulously designed to support a child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. It encourages an appreciation for movement and the body's creative expression, fostering a positive attitude towards an active and healthy lifestyle. In the Foundation years, students engage in the Fundamental Skills Program, which teaches balancing, running, jumping, catching, and throwing while promoting hand-eye coordination through enjoyable team-building games.
