The world takes notice when we honour our cultural roots, for in our pride lies the essence of our identity.”

Delhi Public School Surajkund is dedicated to instilling in our children a profound awareness and appreciation of their country’s rich heritage. In this spirit, we organized a week-long celebration titled “India Week,” brimming with exciting activities and a vibrant patriotic spirit.

Throughout the week, our students engaged in creative art projects and hands-on activities, immersing themselves in our great nation’s cultural and historical values. Each day, our young learners explored the essence of freedom, unity, and pride through interactive events, celebrating India’s diverse culture and enduring legacy.

Our Montessori children participated in a sensory activity focused on the tricolour of our national flag. Additionally, they dressed up in attire representing various national symbols, helping them connect with the nation’s identity in a tangible way.

The Pre-Nursery students joined the celebrations by dressing in the traditional attire of different states. Each child also spoke about the state they represented, fostering an appreciation for India’s regional diversity.

Nursery Prep and Grade 1 students showcased their patriotism by dressing up as freedom fighters. They spoke a few lines about these national heroes, expressing their love and gratitude for their sacrifices and contributions to the nation.

Throughout “India Week,” we celebrated the vibrant colours and cultural richness of India, fostering a deep sense of love and pride for the nation in every student. This week-long event not only enhanced the students’ understanding of India’s heritage but also strengthened their connection to the values and principles that shape our country.

Together, we embraced the spirit of India, nurturing a patriotic fervor that will continue to inspire our young learners for years to come.

The adage "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy" reflects our belief in the essential balance between academics and sports to unlock a child's full potential. This equilibrium not only fosters gross motor skills but also cultivates valuable personal attributes like teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Sports, we believe, imparts crucial life lessons that academics alone cannot provide. Our Physical Education program is meticulously designed to support a child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. It encourages an appreciation for movement and the body's creative expression, fostering a positive attitude towards an active and healthy lifestyle. In the Foundation years, students engage in the Fundamental Skills Program, which teaches balancing, running, jumping, catching, and throwing while promoting hand-eye coordination through enjoyable team-building games.
