The Mango Bazaar was a visual feast, with tables adorned in golden hues displaying a variety of mangoes such as Alphonso, Kesar, Langra, Safeda, and Dasheri. Each variety was beautifully arranged, inviting children to explore their shapes, colours, sizes, and the distinct aroma of the king of fruits. Engaging conversations followed, as students enthusiastically identified familiar varieties they had seen at home or in local markets—enhancing their observation and vocabulary skills.
A specially curated Mango Tasting Corner offered a sensory delight, with students sampling fresh mango slices, smooth puree, refreshing mango juice, and tangy aam papad. This experience encouraged them to describe textures and flavours, fostering expressive language and introducing the joy of mindful eating.
The celebration extended beyond taste to creativity and academics. Mango-themed art activities filled classrooms with cheerful mango faces, mango trees, and colourful collages. Teachers wove the theme into cross-curricular learning—mathematics through counting mango cut-outs, science through understanding single-seed and multiple-seed fruits, and language development through mango stories and rhymes. Classes I and II added a cooking activity integrated with process writing, encouraging both literacy and logical reasoning.
Beyond the academic and sensory experiences, the event nurtured social and emotional growth as children explored, shared, and interacted in a warm, engaging environment.
The Mango Day Celebration was more than an event—it was a harmonious blend of seasonal learning, creativity, communication, and curiosity. The sunshine, sweetness, and laughter that filled the day made it a truly memorable experience, with smiles as delightful as the fruit we celebrated.
