DPS Surajkund celebrated Raksha Bandhan on August 8, 2025, with devotion, joy, and cultural fervour. Adding a unique dimension, the festival was also observed as Vrikshabandhan, reminding children of their responsibility as protectors of nature.
The celebrations carried a traditional touch as children, dressed in festive attire, immersed themselves in creative expressions of love, care, and respect. Montessori and Balvatika students crafted eco-friendly rakhis and lovingly tied them to trees and plants, pledging to safeguard and nurture the environment. In a collaborative effort, students also designed a large rakhi, which they tied around a tree—symbolising their collective promise to protect Mother Earth.
Primary students celebrated bonds of friendship and equality by tying rakhis to peers and creating handmade cards for their siblings. The festivities concluded with the sharing of sweets, spreading happiness, warmth, and togetherness across the school community.
The day beautifully wove together tradition and sustainability—celebrating not just the bond between people, but also our enduring bond with nature.
