In our pursuit of holistic education, DPS Surajkund recognizes the importance of sensory experiences in early childhood development. Among these, the perception of colour plays a pivotal role in shaping child’s understanding of the world around them. With this in mind, we recently embarked on a week-long journey dedicated to exploring the significance of the colour red, titled ‘Red Week’.
Throughout the ‘Red Week’, our students engaged in a variety of hands-on activities designed to reinforce their understanding and perception of the colour red. These activities went beyond mere theoretical learning and encouraged practical exploration. Children not only painted various objects with shades of red but also actively sought out the colour in their surroundings. From spotting red flowers in the school garden to identifying red fruits in their tiffin, every moment became a learning opportunity.
The pinnacle of Red Week was the vibrant celebration of Red Day. On this day, both students and teachers adorned themselves in striking red attire, symbolizing our collective appreciation for the colour and its myriad associations.
