At DPS Surajkund, we believe that learning doesn’t happen only within four walls. Through Van Mahotsav, our little learners discovered that nature is the best teacher—offering lessons in care, patience, observation, and sustainability.
A Week Rooted in Green Values
Each day of Van Mahotsav was designed to nurture eco-consciousness in children. From touching the cool bark of a tree to creating art from fallen leaves, the children built a beautiful connection with the natural world around them.
Sensory Learning Through Nature
The celebration was filled with sensory-rich moments—crunching dry leaves underfoot, smelling fresh flowers, feeling the veins of a leaf. These moments helped the children experience nature not just visually, but through touch, smell, and sound.
Cultivating Curiosity and Care
Activities like nature jars and leaf printing turned curiosity into creativity. More importantly, they sparked early conversations on why we must care for our environment, and how even small acts—like not plucking flowers or watering a plant—can make a difference.
Through every activity, we reinforced how plants, trees, and natural surroundings are vital to our lives. The experience was not only about creativity but also about responsibility—teaching children to care for and respect our planet.
