Visit to Barnyard, A Sustainability Farm

Parent ERP Login

DPS Surajkund organized an engaging farm trip for Montessori and Pre-Nursery students, offering them a meaningful opportunity for experiential learning. The visit to the barnyard allowed the children to witness, pet, and feed various farm animals, creating an immersive experience that contributed to their holistic development.

During the trip, students eagerly touched the soft fur of animals, fed them, and heard their unique sounds, providing a rich sensory experience. This hands-on interaction not only enhanced their connection with nature but also gave them a deeper appreciation for animals and the environment. The act of petting and feeding animals nurtured their sense of compassion and empathy.

The trip also supported social and emotional development, as children learned the importance of responsibility through feeding and caring for the animals. These experiences taught them to be gentle and considerate, reinforcing values of kindness and respect.

Furthermore, the students’ cognitive growth was enriched as they learned about the different animals, their characteristics, and behaviors. This encouraged children to think critically and ask questions, expanding their knowledge.

All in all, the farm trip integrated experiential learning, sensory perception, and values such as compassion, empathy, and responsibility. It played a key role in the students’ cognitive, social, and emotional development, while fostering a lasting connection with nature. The experience left the children with fond memories and valuable lessons about the world around them.

The adage "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy" reflects our belief in the essential balance between academics and sports to unlock a child's full potential. This equilibrium not only fosters gross motor skills but also cultivates valuable personal attributes like teamwork, leadership, dedication, discipline, self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Sports, we believe, imparts crucial life lessons that academics alone cannot provide. Our Physical Education program is meticulously designed to support a child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. It encourages an appreciation for movement and the body's creative expression, fostering a positive attitude towards an active and healthy lifestyle. In the Foundation years, students engage in the Fundamental Skills Program, which teaches balancing, running, jumping, catching, and throwing while promoting hand-eye coordination through enjoyable team-building games.
